Wow!! The food was magic! Fresh and delicate flavours. Only once in my life at a high end restaurant in Sydney was I offered sorbet between dishes to cleanse the palate....this is superb! About time Tamworth had some class! Highly recommend chef and staff! Relaxing atmosphere...class meets country! ...didn't have to wait or want for anything...superb!

Ah ... Soothing live music, waterfalls in the courtyard, well spaced tables, beautiful surroundings, relaxed and helpful staff all too willing to ensure that the lighting and mood was perfect. It is Valentine's Day - and my partner likes to take me somewhere excellent, to make me feel special. He chose Cascada this year, we went along without any prejudgment. Little foil hearts decorate the tables and everything looks perfect. Calming atmosphere, very conducive to a good conversation, and I'm ready for a delicious meal on a cool rainy evening. We ordered, and I asked if I could have potato or rice with my meal, please. Duly noted on our order. But it seems that Chef chose to not provide the side dish, even when I again asked after it at the time of serving. The server said, it must be in the kitchen, and, upon returning, was at a loss to explain my lack of side dish (no side dishes or salads were on the menu, mind) and whether it was Chef's words or hers, but it did not please me to hear that the plates were under "portion control". I was hastily offered another bread roll, which I accepted, but it isn't as tasty as lovely potato, is it? My "portion" for $24.95 was a bed of sliced raw tomato, topped with a small but nicely cooked mix of a couple types of mushroom, a few salad rocket leaves, shaved parmesan, surrounded by a ring of tasty pesto sauce, and five thyme stalks. Sweet - small - I had wanted some carbs as a side dish to fill me up. I don't eat red meat. I chose mushrooms. When I got home, my son-in-law said I should have asked if the Chef thought I was fat, that he should tell me himself. I'm not, by the way. We were offered dessert or coffee, but I was in no mood for it. A little thing can spoil a pleasant evening. Surely a chef can be more flexible - I wasn't asking for a freebie.
