  Nice, polite, efficient staff (even at 5.30am). Large, clean rooms and a shower you could get lost in ! I found the maids always switched the air con to full, so I always switched it off when I came back, otherwise it was too cold to sleep. Good selection of food available. Breakfast starts at 0600am which is good if you're starting early. For the price would recommend.

  Weirdo receptionist when I checked in. She asked how I would like to pay and I said with a Visa debit card..she then insisted there is no such thing as visa debit only credit card and wanted to put the additional fee on?? Only after several minutes did I manage to pay with the "visa debit" but even then she was unsure she was doing the right thing but said don't worry I'll sort it out later in a exasperated way. Later on in the evening when I was using the guest computers (which require a password from reception btw) a member of staff comes from the back somewhere and asks in an accusatory tone " excuse me are you a guest here"? No mate I just wonder the streets of Darwin looking for hotels where I can sneak in to after the reception closes to calmly book activities for things to do in Darwin...It wasn't even the question he asked that bothered me it was just the way he did it..His starting point wasn't to presume I'm almost certainly a guest here and to start a friendly conversation and ask the question a few sentences in in a tactful way, but just to come from the back somewhere and then ask in a way that straight away makes me think I've done something wrong? The same guy did turn out to be relatively friendly after that though.. Probably because we spoke about how I didn't like the way he asked the question. He got me a bowl and spoon which I asked for and later said he would have matched the price I got at another hotel when I checked out 2 days later. Another good thing is that they allowed me to check in early at around 10.30 am after I'd dropped my bags off at 6ish in the morning. The hotel is also very clean and straightforward.

  Staff pleasant, rooms clean, tidy & comfortable. Is central & convenient to every thing. Air conditioning too cold. No bar during the wet season? Can't go anywhere because it's too wet & windy........

  Not impressed with the hotel in general. Front desk receptionist first couldn’t find my booking, when he finally found it he was complaining it was booked wrong. Handed over my card for payment however when it was time to hand over my car keys to get my car parked by them about an hour after checking in, another front desk receptionist asked for my bank card for payment. I refused and said it’s already been charged. I was told my card has not been charged even though I handed over my card to the first receptionist. The room looked dinghy and old, the room service breakfast was below average and tasted like rubber, from the restaurant down stairs.
