Went for $10 lunch of steak, salad & chips. Very good value and didn't have to wait long. In large group and arranged seating for us.

Once the Parrot was an outstanding place to dine. Once the Parrot was a nice place to eat and drink. My experience this time was the worst I have been anywhere on the coast. Burger buns where cold. I mean cold from storage not toasted or warmed considering they were supposed to be brioche buns. Very minimal toppings on the pizzas. My partner caeser salad had a cold poached egg and for a main was the size of a side dish. Hardly worth the money. Everything is covered in dust, cutlery, table, condiments, due to the ongoing renovations. When we arrived under our table was the remains of the lunch service of fried chips and a lot. We were early to dinner so there was no one before us at that table. Disappointed due to dining many many times in the past.

Great hotel... love the music in the public bar instead of listening to horseraces but it would be good if just one of the numerous video screens could show the video for the music... Did not enjoy the constant stream of smokers leaving the swinging ? door open and sharing their smoke especially as it was over 33degrees and it was a waste of time having the air con on... also the dense clouds of smoke from electronic machines creating a fog screen must have been annoying for patrons entering through the back door... Kiara was a highlight and very informative on the different old beers... I'll be back albeit it with a gas mask
