Absolutely beautiful location to visit. It is free to enter. We have been there so often because we love the view so much. We like to take a picnic and sit on the hill and enjoy the view for the afternoon.

Always great to visit the people are full of local knowledge. The fact that the events happened on my birthday before I was born is even more surprising. Keep up the great work.

2nd visit to this lovely fort. Took our toddler and he loved it, fairly pram friendly with ramp access to most things. It's great that it is free to do a self guided tour and watch the gun being fired at 1pm. Tours of the tunnels are available for a small cost however not recommend for toddlers. The guides are a wealth of knowledge and very friendly and approachable. An added bonus of having some of the best views (if not the best!) Over the port and beaches - great for watching ships coming in and out. Plenty of free parking. I would recommend this when visiting new castle.

A wonderful place to visit in Newcastle. Lots of interesting things to see and the history behind the fort and if you are really lucky you my get to fire one of the guns. They are very loud. The Firing of the Guns concert is very entertaining with the different bands and orchestra's playing at the Fort.

A wonderful historical landmark. Free entry and on-site parking. Heaps for adults and kids to explore, and magnificent views over all surrounds - including Nobbys Beach, the harbour and city. Most parts of the site require going up sloped paths or steps, so visits by the mobility impared will require extra planning. On the day I visited, the volunteer guides were able to offer my mum - who has trouble walking - a quick ride around the Fort on a golf cart, but I don't know if this is usually available or we were just lucky. Definitely worth a visit! Please 'Like' this review if you found it helpful.
