    My puppy hurt his leg and we took him to Greencross Southport to get looked at. The consult was ok, but when the vet was going to give our dog medication I asked for a script to take to my pharmacy. This is where it all went wrong. The vet then tried to explain that meloxicam is not something you can get from a pharmacy. However it is, and it comes in many different strengths (one of those being suitable for the strength the vet was recommending). We insisted that the script be written and we received this piece of trash. An invalid script on a scrap piece of paper. My name was not on the script (as it should have been) The quantity of tablets was not on the script (as it should have been) There was none of the vets details on there (as there should have been) It wasn't dated or signed (as it should have been) This is very very unprofessional practice and it infuriates me. It has wasted my time, my partners time, and if I'd gone into a pharmacy to obtain the tablets (which I didn't bother) it would have wasted the time of the people in there. I ended up going to another vet with the trash this vet gave me and got 4 tablets for my dog which cost $45.50, which is an outrageous price. I could have gotten a box of 30 tablets of an equivalent medication for $10 from the pharmacy. My partner had a massive accident about a month after getting our dog, and has not been working (the reason we asked for a script as money is very tight and spending the money we had to means we now cannot buy food for our family this week) we obviously could not have predicted this financial issue (otherwise we would not have taken on the responsibility of a dog) and we obviously could not just 'get rid' of our dog as that is heartless. We took our dog to get looked at as we are trying our best to give him the best care we possibly can for the circumstance we are in. We were treated with such disrespect by this vet, without them understanding what we are going through. Vets are meant to LOVE animals, not punish them. There was zero duty of care. We will NEVER bring our dog back to this practice. I recommend that you take all of the poor reviews into consideration before you even think about bringing your loved animal into this practice!!! I went in the following day (before giving up and going to another vet) and was served by a LOVELY vet nurse. Who kindly told me that no vet had bothered to come into the practice for the weekend. She was atleast helpful! I would have put zero star if I could, but don't feel so bad doing one star because of this vet nurse.

    Shocking service and expensive, took my elderly dog for a check up as thought something was not quite right with her, had blood work done the bill was $298.00!! Was expecting a call from the vet in a couple of days to let me know the results, instead I had to phone three days in a row only to be told each time that the Vet would phone me back to explain results. I was beginning to get rather cross and worried so rung on the fouth day and said I expected better service for the price I paid to be told by the receptionist that a note was on the file saying everything ok except too much fat in diet. Will never go here again.

    I called 15 times between 8am and 8:30am trying to make a NEW appointment/ introduction for my 2 dogs... all I got was the message "we are open 8am till 5pm" Useless administration!!! Why say you are open and NOT bother turning the phones on.. Will not use such an incompetent team for my 2 precious dogs

    Brilliant team at the Southport greencross ventinary. Late call up and appointment was no issue and all the girls were extremely accommodating and friendly. Alex was well looked after and issues were addressed and explained thoroughly to me. Thanks ladies for all your help and we will be back! Highly recommended!
