OMG! Kim from Furniture was amazing. His service was outstanding and he was completely genuine. He had the ability to listen to what we want and sell us a product that met our needs and wants by customising our order by going through several local manufacturers. WE are absolutely thrilled with the dining package we purchased and plan on returning for more. Thanks Kim.

Witnessed an appalling incident yesterday where I believe a store manager (I think someone called him "Max"?) yelled at and bullied a customer over some kind of laptop return. I was browsing through the photo and camera section where I heard a heated exchange between this "Max" and this customer. This customer had a very strong accent, and sounded maybe south american or european. English was obviously his second language. He was also accompanied by his teenage son. From what I gathered this man was returning a faulty computer that was within the year of purchase for a replacement or something. However, this store manager was giving out sarcastic remarks in response to this man's questions. I don't know who started or instigated this exchange but it feels very unprofessional to tell a customer things like "Why don't you call Harvey about this then? I bet he'd love to hear from you" and "You're out of your mind" etc. It reached the point where the customer left the store with his son, as the manager jeered after him sarcastically. As the customer rounded the corner, this guy then had a laugh with his mates behind the computer counter. I couldn't believe what I saw. This kind of chest-beating is what I might expect from a pack of boys outside a club, but to see a manager engage with a paying customer and yell at them as he leaves the store is disgraceful. This person is meant to represent the store, yet not only does he abuse his customer, but then has a laugh about it with his employees. This must set a horrible example and business ethic within this store - or perhaps even the company as a whole. I understand returns can be a tricky business, but treating your paying customers like this is pretty wrong no matter the circumstance. Instead of trying to talk or work out the situation, this "Max" chose to escalate the encounter and bully the customer instead of helping them with their return. Left a very bad impression, especially if he really is the store or floor manager. I can't honestly say I'm keen to go back and use any of the camera services or buy the accessories if I know it enables bullies like this who take advantage of english-second language members of our community. Very disappointed.

Absolutely disgusted with Harvey Norman delivery and personnel. They told me they would get the delivery company (a subcontractor) to call me at 8.30 to 9 am this morning to give me an estimated time of delivery. I told them that I had a one-off appointment elsewhere in Canberra at noon that I could not change. What happened, no call until about 1105 am and they wanted to deliver to my home at noon! The subcontractor told me they could not deliver later in the day because they had other deliveries!. Spoke with Brad at Harvey Norman warehouse, who was very evasive and most unhelpful. My advice, if you can purchase from elsewhere with a customer focused delivery contractor, do so. Guess what, got a call from delivery subcontractor saying they would be at my address in 45 to 60 minutes. Actually arrived 82 minutes later. Assembled new bed, which took quite a while, but didn't mind as it was well constructed and seemed to be very robust. BUT!!! when I took off the plastic wrapping sealed around my brand new thousands of dollars Queen mattress. IT WAS FILTHY!!! Not just in one spot but at least 5 areas. Took photos which I'll show to Harvey Norman staff tomorrow and ask them to replace the mattress with a new clean one. Will let you know how I go!! If I could give minus 5 stars for this experience I would.

I was sold a computer package deal for $1999 with $300 off the price that day but as soon as I said I wanted to pay via the 50 months interest free the sales guy added the things on separately and I ended up paying $2400. When I called to ask why he just told me there was no package deal and that I was not able to return the purchase even though I was not happy and it was unopened.
