  Wonderful, sumptuous Art Decó and Old World charm. Warm lighting throughout. And the mighty Wurlitzer tops it off!

  Came for a student Monday session, I had my student card, and my friend didn’t have hers. Like the previous ten or more times we have attended the orpheum, she showed her University timetable and email account as an alternative method of proving that she’s a student. We arrived tonight and were verbally abused by the elderly woman at the ticket counter for doing so. We were confused as we had either been told it was fine, or not needed a student card on multiple occasions. If we had known we wouldn’t have done so, but being yelled at by this lady wasn’t a great start to the movie.

  What a great experience! Escape in to the past. How can one feel nostalgic at a place they are visiting for the first time? Such is the magic of this place. It was everything I imagined. And more. They done a marvellous job at keeping things how they were 80years ago. From the ticket booth to the candy shop. The colours . The wall of fame. The velvet. The carpet. All so, well, cinematic!

  The Orpheum is an old world charm cinema. From another era, a Beautiful cinema with showings of non main stream movies as well as main stream. There is always something interesting happening at the Orpheum.

  This is a beautiful old art deco theatre. Each cinema is decorated differently but equally beautifully. There are two bars allowing you easy access to snacks and drinks regardless of which cinema you're in. Good range of snacks - ice creams, chocolates, of course pop corn - and also good range of wines by the glass. Close to loads of restaurants also for a pre or post dinner movie
