  Location is very central and convenient (right in front of tram stop). But it is so busy that the line for gold members is even longer then normal customers. Also there was no clear queuing up system which prevented people from jumping queue. Suggest for hertz to give out queue numbers (have a queue number machine) to make it easier for customers. Staff that attended to us was really helpful especially with info on toll charges and where to top up petrol nearest to the airport before returning the car. The Nissan xtrail that we chose had a few scratches but interior wise was reasonably clean. You can connect to your iPhone via your own USB cable to listen to music on your phone via the car speakers. The child seat was also reasonably clean.

  This was our first time ever renting a car and were very happy! Being under 25 there was an excess charge of $15 a day. But this was low compared to other quotes I received. I also recommend taking out the highest insurance option so your excess is just $100. I think this was another $30 a day. All in all with an economy car we paid $310 for 3 days as a young driver on the best insurance option. All I would say is make sure you ALWAYS check the car before setting off. Take photos and videos of every mark you can see. Reception told us that the car only had one scratch on the left hand side front bumper. On inspection there were scratches all around the car. But we took video evidence and it was fine. Returning the car was super easy, it literally took 2 minutes. It was really helpful being able to pick up and drop at flinders st as opposed to the airport. You can drop off out of hours, there is a key box and they will process the return the following morning. We decided against this option as we wanted to change our card details. We are planning another road trip in August and I will 100% be using Hertz.

  We had a great experience with Hertz. We got a great rate on line & prebooking was very easy. Office is in a convenient location to get to by tram or walk. Staff were friendly & knowledgeable.

  I'd like to warn everybody about possible fraud. Hertz gave us a damaged car, and charged us excess even though we had pictures taken and notified them immediately. Request to investigate this incident through reviewing footage has been denied. The only hope is for claims department. This issue is taken to legal authorities for possible farther investigation. Strongly suggest not to rent a car from this location or for that matter not to rent it from Hertz at all. UPDATE: After police involvement and promise to take them to court, apologies have been issued and excess returned. Apparently their own employee smashed the car at airport, but didn't report it. DO NOT RENT!
