  (NOTE: This is a LONG review of the entire process). We contacted Install a Veranda for a quote and within a day, had organised for one of their sales staff to come around. Chris came on a Saturday morning in early November 2017 to have a look at our property and provide us with information about the types of verandas. He was very patient and took time to explain to us but we felt there was a pressure to sign on the dotted lines. He did take the time to draw the plans but to a lay-person like me who doesn't know about building, that meant nothing. The courtyard in our townhouse is small so it was a simple build but there was a difference in what was build and what was initially communicated to me. A word of caution is to not sign on that day if you aren't sure or need time to think over it. They require a 50% payment to start and one of the girls from their office promptly called me on Monday morning to take payment. I would say they are pretty good with their communication throughout. Once payment was taken, I receive a letter the following week informing me someone will come to confirm measurements for the building permit. Then the supervisor, Paul came around to confirm the measurements to order the material. I was asked to sign off on the plan and being a lay-person, this didn't make any sense so if you are unsure, sign it later after you can get someone to review it. Another point to note is that you need to take a few days off work to be home for these appointments (which I would strongly encourage) so that there aren't any miscommunication. An issue we had was the wrong building permit being submitted to council and caused some delays so instead of possibly having the veranda in February 2018, we only had it installed early March 2018. On the day of the installation, the guys were on time and very professional. From what I found, they had to interpret the plan on what to build and didn't have any briefing beforehand. They had the plans to follow but there were no drawing of how the veranda was to be built. There was an issue with our installation with the gutter connection from the veranda to the stormwater outlet. I mentioned if to the guys but they said it was the best they could do. Not happy with the gutter, I complained to the girls in the office the next day they called to take the final payment (NOTE: do NOT pay until you are happy with the build). They sent Paul again the following week and he said the gutter connection was not in compliance (I wouldn't have known!). He came around again a few days later to change how the gutter connected to the stormwater outlet and the iron stormwater pipe to a PVC one. We do love the veranda and it has made our courtyard more usable. In all, I believe there are some areas that Install a Veranda could improve on but it's also buyer beware! Keep a record of communication so that if you have any issues, you can refer back to it.

  Very good service. Was kept up to date with what was happening all the time. Builders arrived on time and work was completed within the time frame. All the rubbish was also taken away. Great Service

  The price is higher than the timber one that I made in the back yet by some others..but the veranda is much nicer...so what you pay and what you get...I am really happy with the end result. The consultant gives really good advice on the color of the roof as the back yard one roof color match with roof tile but actually better make with white as no one can see the roof color with flat top design.. white roof with white both side instead of grey under...so really great apperance.

  Great trades people, but poor customer service. The design did not incorporate a pole where we wanted. Initial consultation and plans given were completely different to final design which is completely understandable, however was not communicated leaving us with a surprise. We have no knowledge or experience in building which is why we pay someone to look after it all, and I feel like we haven't had explanations in the design or which storm drains would be used. My father doesn't speak English well, and I feel like they took advantage of this, and once the paperwork was signed there was no follow up at all. After a couple of phone calls, with a promise someone would get back to me, it has been 2 months now and no one has bothered getting back to us. We were told initially, deposit to be paid, with 50% of the total cost within a month of install and remaining balance to be paid after the installation, apparently that was wrong, the money all needed to be paid before installation, and now I see why. Wouldn't recommend anyone at this stage to go through what I went through. *Edit -1. I was asked to pay the full *remaining* balance before installation was completed, the date on the bank cheque will verify that, as it was sent prior to installation even starting. 2. First design was given when we first met with a designer, when he came for a quote. Second design was signed off by my father who doesn't speak English well at all, which is the "initial" design in companies books. 3. Service has been great since, however still feel upset about what happened.*

  We have been very pleased to date with the ease of the process of getting our veranda underway. We have procrastinated for years thinking we would eventually get it done ourselves, but being always busy with our own business and family... we would never have got to it without Install-a-Veranda helping us. They've taken care of the permits and all the other headaches. All the staff we have dealt with have been great, extremely helpful and very clear on the process and have kept us informed. We are very excited to be having the installation done in a weeks time... and fully expect to be very satisfied... We'll update later!!!
