  Beautiful structure. Pity that the dry Queensland weather is causing some of the timber to crack open.

  The Nepalese Peace Pagoda is one of Southbank's most popular attractions, it's also one of my favourite spots to visit in the Parklands. It was a gift from Nepal to the World Expo in 1988, and relocated to it's present spot in the Parklands. Hand-carved from 80 tonnes of Nepalese timber, it took 160 Nepalese families two years to build. There are only 3 Nepalese peace pagodas in the world - which are located outside of Nepal. Such a beautiful symbol of peace to bestow upon the very beautiful city of Brisbane. Thank you Nepal
