::A delightful surprise - true hidden gem! A lot of people may not think to stop in Nowra but actually you couldn't be further from the missing out on some of NSW's best kept secrets. Some of the most beautiful beaches, surprisingly few people, bush medicinal walks, wildlife explorations, and hidden surf spots that make for an unusual getaway. I should have given myself at least a few days here. The Pleasantway River lodge has surprisingly modern and comfortable rooms. Good wifi, the most delicious breakfast rolls with bacon n egg to write home about and if you're lucky enough to catch the owners Mark and Cat, get their local recommendations on off the beaten path spots. Great for families, passing through for work, or even couples looking to escape the urban hustle for a few days... Or weeks even!Wonderful hospitality, enough said!

::We were pleasantly surprised when we needed emergency accommodation on Christmas eve. The owners went out of their way to fit us in and were really welcoming when we arrived. After a long trip from Adelaide with the kids, they picked up how tired we were and offered us a coffee. This type of service is rarely seen these days and very much appreciated! The heated indoor pool and being close to the CBD was great with the kids. Thank you to the owners!

::The wonderful people at Pleasant Way also do holiday house lettings. I spent a weekend with a group of friends at Walsh House, just around the corner from the motel. The house is stunning. Gorgeously fitted out, with plenty of room to spread out and/or come together. There are 5 bedrooms, with a large kitchen and views of bushland and mountains. Plus an outdoor deck with BBQ to while away the day. Great value, great location and a great getaway to share with family and friends. You'll sleep well away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Highly recommended.
