::Iconic newcastle east. Family run business with hole in the wall fish and chips to eat under the shade of palms. Or always fabulous eat in options, never disappoints for a cozy, romantic night or a sensational feast for groups. Often have live music outside. A must visit both for easy family meals outside or for something special at the inside or outside tables. As for the practical details. Yes they do have a toilet, just ask. They have rugs you can borrow to sit outside on the grass (inside is cosy and only really suitable for children if you have the sort that sit quietly). We booked for a group of about 12 for a party and our friends still talk about it nearly 2 years on.

::We both thoroughly enjoyed dinner last night. Bit late to get a table outside but still enjoyable. Food was great. Hubby couldn't stop raving about the oysters and my crispy skin wild barramundi was DELICIOUS. Dessert was sensational - deconstructed chocolate fudge brownie - the fudge being the highlight.

::Some of the best fish and chips I have ever had. The flathead was unbelievable. So fresh and soft. Excellent service as well. Will definitely be going back and have told lots of friends about my experience!

::Very enjoyable fish and chips. The fish had a beautiful white, moist and flakey flesh encased in a nice light crispy batter. We also ordered the salt and pepper squid which was perfectly cooked with a delicious side of fresh Asian dipping sauce. I also loved the chips cooked with the skin still on, which just highlights how much flavour is lost when the skin is peeled off. Highly recommend.

::We enjoyed a really lovely evening at Scotties last weekend. The restaurant was really busy but our food came out delicious & in great time. We sat outside under the umbrellas & enjoyed the beautiful lights & music. The staff were really attentive & explained the menu to us. We will definitely be back soon, thank you Scotties!
