  Alteration on shirt to reduce sleeve length appears to have reduced shoulder width which was not what was requested. Staff claim they did not touch it but it obviously fits differently in the shoulder. The staff also advised that the (now) messy and unfinished tailoring job on the shoulder is from the factory but the brand of shirt (expensive) was well finished and neat inside and out when purchased (and this was easy to confirm with other shirts from the brand). Disappointed that after paying a fairly expensive fee for some alterations. Won't return.

  Having tried all 3 Swallow’s stores in Brisbane City, I won't be returning. Mary Street store: Rush-job, seams not aligned. Had to return the same job twice - due to sloppy tailoring. ANZAC Square: Understaffed; customers are rushed through. One tailor has limited English, which creates a language barrier for customers' requests. Myer Centre: The staff do not seem to listen to what you want when you submit a repair or alteration; and can be snappy and argumentative if you are dissatisfied with the 'finished' product. Pricing is quite expensive.

  It took them three times to clean my coats and suits properly. First time I picked them up, the clothes were still dirty exactly as when I dropped them off. Second time no improvement. $32 was a ripoff for such bad service

  A couple of months ago I was charged a ridiculous amount of almost $400 to shorten and alter an expensive dress I bought overseas. The lady took my measurements with the heels I brought and when I came back to collect my dress, it was altered too short and nothing could have been done to fix it. I was upset and told the lady who altered my dress that it was not to the length I wanted and she accused me of not bringing my own shoes when she did the alteration. Then I told her I did and she said I didn't tell her that I wanted it that long. I told her I was not happy with the my dress and spoke to the manager who instead of apologising said "That is not the way to talk to my staff!" in an angry tone in front of another customer just because I am in my early twenties and was younger than her. I didn't even raise my voice at her staff but told her that I needed it fixed before my event and wanted to know what she could do about it. I asked for a refund for my dress but the manager refused to give me a refund because she said the work had been done. Worse part was that I had to take another day off and come back to the city just to collect my dress the day before my event which added more stress only to have a large hem sewn onto the bottom of the dress- what an eye sore. Only if I knew their service was this bad, I would have never have trusted them with my dress. Terrible service by unprofessional people.

  I had a very detailed dress that needed some tricky alterations. The ladies were very patient with me and made sure that everything was perfect. Couldn't be happier with the result. Quality alterations for a great price!
