I'm not sure whats going on in this place in terms of the management. It seems incredibly hard to adopt a dog, before even talking to us the manager seemed to not like me and told me dogs weren't available which wasn't true. I've owned a dog before and she proceeded to tell me the dog was too much to handle for me not knowing anything about my animal history. Seems a sad state of affairs when animals are getting put down in this shelter. I understand they have to make sure the pet is going to a good home but I feel the manager is just on her high horse and being stubborn and rude.

Last time I was there at the Lost Dogs home there was barely a staff member to be seen. It didn't feel engaging just walking around looking at all the Animals in cages. A lot of distressed/sad Dogs in cages. I'm not saying that the Lost Dogs Home is the cause of the Dogs unhappiness/distress but again the lack of attention would seem to contribute. The staff I have met there have been very friendly and helpful. The animals themselves are all Beautiful and need all the help and Love that people want to share with them. I recommend adopting a pet from the Lost Dogs home, not because I think it's a Great business but because the Animals need our help. Pet adoption is a responsibility for life. And therefore should only be undertaken if you are committed to loving, looking after and growing old with your new friend. It's sad to see how many pets are adopted only to be returned or abandoned elsewhere. The process of pet adoption is neither difficult nor expensive. Help any animal in need that you Can, even if you cant adopt it. You can volunteer your time to help at places like the Lost Dogs Home, be a short term foster parent for Animals, encourage others to help where they Can, etc.

The best adoption centre I've ever visited. They have an open door centre, so you can walk through to meet the animals whenever you like. When we were looking to adopt a dog, our journey begun here and ended here! It took a lot of patience but we eventually adopted Hershey on 13/01/18. He's now an important part of our family. The staff here are kind and generous and were very helpful every time we visited. They want the best for the animals, that's easy to see!

Great cause, great people. The people know their stuff and are more than willing to help you find a pet, help settle them in and educate you. The adoption process is fairly quick, and the shelter is always at capacity so there is probably a pet in there for everyone.
