  Great old fashioned pub. Nice locals and staff.

  Very disappointed!!!!! On Thursday 12th April at 7:40 pm , we had an unfortunate experience with one particular bar staff member who gave us every hint to leave. Even at this early hour the pub had cleared out and it was made very clear to us that staff wanted us off the premises so they could close the doors and go home . On leaving, one staff member remarked , “goodbye, you’ll be missed” in a snide, sarcastic tone . As a member or the local Waratah community, I am truly appalled by the attitude of the staff at this dingy establishment. Never again!

  Excellent pub meals, especially the burgers. The pub itself is a bit rough around the edges and could use a facelift, but the food is simple and well done.

  Had dinner here. Meh...certainly No master chef here. Went to the bar for a couple of drinks over priced. At least the chicken was cooked, garden salad was really ordinary lettuce tomato and onion. No dressing two stars. One for price of the food and one for the chicken being cooked.

  Would not return and will not recommend. We went as a group for dinner, It’s very basic pub food. Most people enjoyed their dinner but there was a mix up with a few meals which ended with us being berated loudly by the server (Sarah) because we dared discussing the mix up. When I pointed out that my steak was in fact m/w and not m/r, the expectation was that I swap with the lady who had already started eating my meal. It was only when she started telling us off that there was any mention of a new meal. She then stormed in the kitchen started yelling and slammed the door. We were then left for the rest of our stay with no service and had to sit at our table with the dirty dishes after we had finished. As is our custom to have coffee and cake after we went up the road to the Royal Inn (where the service and food were fantastic)because it had put a dampener on the evening. To the defence of the management he listened to our complaint and said that he understood and would act on it. I know we all have bad days. But leave don’t bring it to work, because your bad service cost you repeat visits because a lot of us said we wouldn’t return. I’m giving this 2 stars purely for the people that enjoyed the food and the way management listened. P.S salad is more than a heap of lettuce a slice of tomato and an onion ring.
