Meander away from the main strip to discover this house-to-cafe conversion. Browse through the ever-popular favourites served at all good cafes and settle in for a short wait, accompanied by the rhythms of pumping rap music. The black sticky rice was presented with passionfruit, puffed rice, banana and immersed in coconut cream. The generous serve was chewy but enjoyably balanced by the textures of the banana and coconut cream. The passionfruit gave the dish a slightly tart kick. Loved the matcha latte with maple syrup experiment - a harmony and added flavour that can only be from maple syrup. Service with a smile by both staff - never gets old. The interior is cosy but modern and the courtyard seating in the back is really pleasant on a balmy day. Another successful experiment with a happy ending.

Officially the first cafe we visited in Melbourne.  It was like yesterday. I was with my suitcase and just arrived in Melbourne. Thirsty and hungry on the New Years Day. Many places were closed. This joint saved my day. The coffee was amazing, food was delicious. I was over the moon. Now that I have lived in Melbourne for over a year, my standards for cafes went up significantly. This place is still a solid option in North Melbourne. Coffee still tastes good (not amazing anymore) Courtyard is very cute. The only complain is that you have to wait for a long time for a coffee on a busy Sat or Sun morning.

Terrible service and food! Today being a public holiday, they had one cook on in the kitchen.... had to wait FOREVER for just coffees, over half an hr, and then another half hr for our brunch! My chicken burger was disgusting! Didn’t seem fresh, chicken thigh stringy, and bread roll didn’t taste fresh.... and instead of having fries with it, potato chips are served with it! Fed it to my dog... when I mentioned this to staff, they said “I don’t know what to say” Didn’t even take off the coffee from the bill for overly priced , below standard meals! Never again!

I attended last Saturday at around 11am. I order the Big brekky and the black rice pudding dishes plus long black coffee and a ice chai tea. Normally I refrain of commenting if I have nothing good to say, but this time I will. Apparently they had problems in the kitchen. My food came after one hour of ordering. The Big breakfast was cold and un enjoyable. The coffee's only remarkable was the price ($5.00). Nothing better than a $1.00 coffee at a seven eleven store. Service is not good. Waitresses could try to smile and make people welcome specially the young lady that seem to be in Charon the front desk.. Will I come back? Not in the near future.
