Save your money and time!! We were abused as paying customers because the owner didn't like our feedback... Fairly new to Adelaide and showin travelling friends Semaphore. Felt like Mexican at 8pm Thursday night, so we did a walk in. There was only one other couple in the whole restaurant. We sat down- and waited. And waited. Failing to be served we had to look for someone to take our order. We ordered a pitcher of margarita, 2 servings of enchiladas and a main ribs with an entre of con queso. There was another long wait for our "cheese and spice sauce". The serving size was average it lacked flavour, had a tablespoon of salsa and ONE slice of jalapeno- ONE! plus a hair. Lucky!! It had obviously been sitting before it was served as it had already developed that hard top layer and it was thick and floury. Margarita was good...I was designated driver so only had a glass Ribs also yummy- but the rice...dry and cold. The rice featured on all out presented mains. Equivalent to the dryness of pouch microwave rice. The enchiladas were the main fail of the night. Over cooked whole chicken fillet wrapped in dry pita covered in what looked like tomato paste. It's was thick, rich and over powering and obviously over cooked considering it has been nearly 50 minutes from the time we had ordered. The beans were just slopped on the plate garnished with store bought grated cheese. You can tell it's not freshly grated because of the texture and the powder build up on the cheese itself. The plate may of been served super hot- But the food was just warmed. Normally I like to take photos of my outings with friends but the display of food wasn't even close to the images circling this restaurants Facebook. I wish I did though only so that I could show the owner. The wait staff were informed that we were unimpressed with our meal. We then followed up when we went to pay. The owner came out and went into auto defensive mode. Yes we said the food was bad! And she did not like that at all . She tried to turn it on us sayin that we should of said something and that we looked happy enough outside whilst eatting. Firstly we did say something. To your waitress the first time. The wait staff were very unattentive even having to ask for cutlery with our main. If you received that feedback your chef or yourself should of approached us- not the other way around. The owners response was -too bad! As that was apparently the accepted response and she was justifying her response as that is what had happened to her!! Wat the???? An example of what not to do for your business. She went on to abuse us, call us disgusting and to, "f*** off!" After we paid in full for our one and half eattin meals. So here is your rating Viva Semaphore Cantina- your lucky that zero stars isn't an option!

We have nothing but positive comments for this restaurant. The food service time was minimal, considering how busy it was. The food was so very tasty, and so wholesome. The serving sizes are great too. The service was awesome, and very accommodating. Considering how much we ate and drank, the final bill was surprisingly low. This restaurant is well worth your time, and your hunger deserves it. The (sunset) view was priceless too!

Perfect place to go on a pleasant Friday or Saturday night. Sit out under the verandah and watch an awesome sunset out over the ocean and enjoy some tasty as Mexican food, what more could you ask for. Service was a little slow but it was all worth it, food was all freshly prepared and full of flavour. Definitely recommend as considering the view you get and the quality of food and its all quite a reasonable price, its pretty good really considering what other Mexican restaurants will try and slug you
