::I could almost sense the moment Dr Elliot's eyes glazed over when I told him I had run out of money for his extortionate fees and therefore wanted my son's treatment to be done through the public system. His secretary told me they wouldn't even bother sending the paperwork over to the RPA for two months. Then when I called to say he was in extreme pain and needed help, they suggested I came in for another steep fee. I struggle to accept that people's health can be treated as a profit-making, two-class system, where those who don't have a few thousand dollars to spare can be tossed aside, no matter what age, and told to suffer for a year or so. Disgraceful.

::Dr Elliott has been absolutely wonderful in guiding my through the diagnosis and surgery for a rare neck condition. He is thoroughly professional and very supportive. His staff have also been a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommended!

::We live in a society that increasingly values a person's worth by how much money they make a company or how they improved the return to shareholders. People that actually contribute to the improvement of lives by teaching, creating, repairing or discovering seem to receive little or appropriate recognition and we probably tend to take them for granted. I guess it takes an upheaval in the continuum of your comfortable life, like the diagnosis and treatment of Medullary Thyroid Cancer, to make you sit up and appreciate what others have done for you. Family and the friends that count come to the fore and you realise that an extremely professional and dedicated team have managed to do, what appears to me, to be the almost impossible. I am under no illusions as to the potential problems that may still arise in the future with my illness but I'm also aware that absolutely everything that could have been done in a long and arduous operation was, not just done, but done with the utmost skill and care. I know that Dr Elliott had many potentially life changing decisions to make during the course of my treatment and no matter what the future every single one of those was the right one for me and my idea of what I want my life to continue to be. Dr Elliott's response , of course, was that he was "just doing his job" but of course the point is he was not "just" doing his job but using his knowledge and experience to do the job to the best of his ability and with a high degree of skill. Coupled with that he showed me great compassion and care during my recovery which, together with his team always included me in discussions about treatment, which gave me great comfort and confidence. I cannot thank him enough or recommend him more highly.

::Dr Michael Elliot staff were professional and helpful. The operation I had was a huge success to the point of being life changing. I would have no hesitation in recommending Dr Elliott who is considering surgery.
