  A wild, sandy place. Next to the cafe is a guide walk across the mangrove. There are toilets located at the cafe and also near the town beach. Town Beach is very popular with kite surfer's, and is shallow till a good distance out. The is also the towns dog beach, which you walk down until you get to the One Mile Jetty, and walk under it to carry on up the sand spit. The beach can be rather unpleasant when the river is following, but that is rare if would be worth visiting just for that spectacle.
