::This was a very bad experience. Despite Stephen O'Hagan telling me that there was a 1 in 150,000 chance of a problem, I ended up with damage to both eyes after a (supposedly) simple cataract surgery. After a number of extremely painful injections into one of my eyes I am now facing the prospect of going blind in both eyes.

::I had a fairly sudden loss of vision, so went to an optometrist, who referred me to Dr O’Hagan. Apparently it was a rare fungal infection, that had got into my eye, and was causing scarring and vision loss. I was pretty worried about permanent damage, but after 2 or 3 injections was back to normal. Dr O’Hagan was great – calm and competent. I had a rare thing called presumed ocular histoplasmosis syndrome – supposedly it is extremely rare, but very happy with the treatment at Cairns Eye & Laser Centre and Dr. O'Hagen in particular. If it wasn't for his expertise I would be blind now.

::Terrible, had clear lense extraction to remove the need for glasses. After operation & $6000 I still need glasses !! went from being farsighted +1.50 prescription to -1.00 short-sighted prescription. Dr O'Hagan assured me the operation was safe, which it was, but never said anything about the possibility of a poor result. Also said I expected to much from operation afterwards. Aweful experience which I wish I could undo !!
