A local and well known sushi/sashimi takeaway supermarket. A pleasant surprise to have real Japanese people serving Japanese food. Always polite and respectful. Great service and amazing food. I get in trouble on Tuesdays (my day off) by purchasing a sushi/sashimi platter instead of cooking dinner. It’s too easy! If you really want to impress the family purchase some of their frozen gyoza. I must go there too often as they all know me by name now. Now the trick to cooking good gyoza. Use a hot pan with a small sprinkling of olive oil. Place the frozen gyoza flat side down for two minutes until a little brown. Pour 150 ml of water into the pan so that it instantly boils. Place a lid over the pan and turn down the heat to medium/high. Leave for five minutes. Serve with a small bowl of soy sauce (dipping). Magic!

I have 2 homes, because when you visit a place soo frequently in 2 years that the sushi chef you always shyly smile and say hi to in English, because you don’t know a drop of Japanese, always knows your name and order. I’ve tried every flavour, every combo, and sat in every seat in the store, and it’s always exactly the same - soo tasty, fresh, and homely. I think what makes this place work is that it’s simple. It’s easy to order (pick a number), it’s easy to eat (fingers or chopsticks), and it’s easy to find (location location location). What’s more it’s got that ‘I’m not a restaurant, or a take away, but a hidden, low key, Japanese pantry where you can take someone to on a first date’ kind of vibe. But the only reason why I keep coming back is because the staff are just soo damn nice! Try ordering the 58 with their made to order soy matcha milk shake, and then down it with their matcha ice cream after.

One of the most authentic Japanese Sushi places I've found in Melbourne as of yet. With a large range of Sushi, Sashimi and even Sake! Furthermore, there's a grocery section if you fancy certain Japanese products, like Plum Wine, Matcha or my favourite Ujinotsuyu Aoyanagi Green Tea. Most of the time, the chefs will make your order on the spot, which is a good window to peek around. With only a few seats in the corner, it's expected of you to take-away. The best Sushi store in this area, easy.

By far the best sushi i have ever had in Australia. I am addicted to it and I go there every 3 weeks. Japanese staff serving and very very fresh sushi. Omg i already start missing the yummy sushi.

This business has two sides. One, it makes sushi and sashimi to order so you can be assured that it is the freshest possible. The other is a Japanese grocery outlet and for me and many others this is THE place for produce. The Japanese rice sold here is excellent, the best I have ever tasted. The goods are Japanese but there are helpful english signage with the shelf label to help the uninitiated and curious to try. The refrigerators contain frozen fish that is the Japanese favourite as well as cereal that is the favourite of Japanese children and adults alike.
