::A great range of top quality meats, smallgoods and accoutrements and deli produce - including a small but quality wine collection. The prices are high but about right for the quality. Meatsmith can get exceptionally busy - particularly around Christmas and other special occasions. The staff are all highly qualified and are generally very forthcoming with good advice.

::Advertised price of gin at $99 (including on label in store); woman at till rung it up at $110. Explained it was $99; she then walks back to $99 label on shelf, rips off the label, simply says βitβs wrongβ and asks if I still want it. Go online and the distillers website confirms price at all stockists is $99. Poor form.

::If you want to pay a premium price because you would rather not go to your local butcher. Good luck. Came once, steaks were expensive and not much better than Coles.

::Great produce and excellent quality but needs to be more reliable with stock. Went on Thursday for pork sausages - none available and told they might have some by the weekend. Returned Sunday for lamb cutlets. None available and no lamb chops either. Need to get this sorted otherwise will be creating an unreliable reputation.

::Wow that was an expensive anniversary dinner in and the washing up wasn't even the worst part! When you pay $80 for two steaks there is a certain level of expectation, take that aside this was bang average. I consider myself to be a reasonably good cook but was left scratching my head...it was rare and well rested so why did it feel like a work out just to cut into the damn thing! I regularly floss so the toughness might be overlooked for incredible flavour...but alas I have tasted beefier oxo cubes! But really more fool me...this is coming from the Andrew McConnell school of Melbourne cuisine that charges $500 for a meal for two where the bread and butter is the best course!!!
