Cool place. The food whilst interesting didn't blow my mind but that might because I'm a little jaded with the while multiple taste and texture way of cooking and presenting. Still though if you're keen on a nice bar and restaurant in an architectural environment this place is certainly worth checking out.

I love the ambience of this place but feel the experience dies not always live up to the promise. We came for nibbles and wine before the movies and ordered a cheese platter. Out came a plate with some crisp bread and one cheese, plus a fruit paste. For $28 we felt this was a bit of a joke. The wait staff told us it’s called s cheese plate - not platter - but we still felt robbed. The share plates menu doesn’t change enough to keep locals interested and the serves are so small that you need to spend a lot to feel you’ve eaten. It’s a lovely set up but we won’t be back till something shifts in how they approach the menu.

When you are happy to spend $500 for two people there are just some things you expect! Correct cocktail order to start, is a good start! The bottle of wine coming to the table *with* the first three courses you matched it to, not 45 minutes later with the third course. Kitchen is closing what seems like early so we have to pre-order our desserts and watch them melt whilst we finish our meal. Staying at the hotel so get them on a tray to take up to our room. Fix up the bill at the bar like a cafe and order our dessert wine because the wait staff have not asked you if there anything else they can help you with, but instead ask the other couples in the restaurant if they *now* want dessert. Thank God you are staying in the best room in the hotel and the *hotel* staff are amazing. Over the last three nights we have been to other restaurants like at Agostini’s at East Hotel, Aubergine and Pulp Kitchen. Do yourself a favour go there instead of Monster!

My second time eating here and really like the flavor combinations and Japanese influence. Highly recommend the slow cooked lamb. It’s a sharing plate approach so be prepared for this.

Designed for share plates. You need to order one and a half dishes for one person. Small portions, around $35 each. Interesting mix of decor. Trying to target upmarket customers. Food was nice however not sure it was worth the price tag.
