::Great depth of history from the farm to the uses of the fabrics at the end of the process. Well worth a visit.

::I really enjoyed this. Great to learn about the history of wool production in Australia and see the loom in action

::Geelong National Wool Museum established in 1988, speaks of the timeless Australian story of wool, combined with exciting contemporary exhibitions, presented in an historic bluestone wool store in vibrant waterfront precinct. The museum collection is a very special Aussie presentation of the development and importance of the wool industry, wool by-products and related machinery. We had a remarkably lovely lunch at the authentic Italian Dennys Kitchen, inside an elaborately built space of exposed wooden beams.

::This place is well worth a visit for children and adults alike. It is 3 floors of memorabilia about the wool industry. In the centre is a massive carpet making machine. And dotted around are people spinning raw wool into skenes.

::As a knitter and spinner, this was a review of where the Australian I industry started and what is done with this valuable commodity. Working machinery and active exhibits are scattered throughout to stimulate interest and there were plenty of opportunities for touching and interacting with things in the way through. Extra space in the hall allows for travelling exhibits and we saw a wildlife photography display that was just awesome but my favourite part was the working jaquard carpet loom and the knowledgeable bloke who operated it.
