  Terrible experience at this Rydges location. Room wasn't ready upon arrival which forced us to alter our pre-planned itenerary. TV in room doesn't work unless you follow a specific set of instructions asking you to wait on Channel 1 for 20 seconds in order for the rest of the channels to load. Sauna doesn't work & when we brought it to the attention to the front desk they simply told us to "fiddle around with the switches". The Hot Tub was not heated to the appropriate temperature and we literally saw dead skin particles floating around and jumped out within 30 seconds of stepping in - when we raised this with the front desk, the attendant insisted the water was heated correctly (in actuality it was luke warm, definitely not hot enough to kill germs). On day 2, we arrived from our day's activities at 2pm to find out that a majority of the cleaning staff had failed to show up for work so we're now waiting in the lobby 3:57pm for our room to be made. Absolutely regret booking this hotel. More like a Motel than Hotel. They charge you 6$ for the usually complimentary water bottles hotels leave on bedside table.

  Good facilities including convenient carpark, pool, and spa. Gym was a bit dated however. Room was nice and bathroom modern. Service quality was great. Good deal for what you get. Pre booked breakfast was a refreshing change from the bad food experiences we otherwise had in Canberra and Thredbo.

  A pleasant comfortable place to stay right in the centre of Canberra. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable.

  The location of the Rydges was perfect for us. Close to main roads to get us round Canberra but not busy. Large quiet rooms. Modern bathrooms. Very nice staff. Undercover parking with lifts straight to our floor. Very clean and tidy. Comfy beds. Close to plenty of cafes and restaurants in Manuka. Definitely on our stay list for next trip to Canberra

  Front reception was a luck of the draw on if you got a friendly and helpful person or a rude , blunt person. We stayed with a newborn and the crib looks like it hasn't been changed in 20 years. It wasn't set up in our room even after requested and called to check 2 days prior to arrival. Then upon arrival they pulled out the folded bed and blamed us saying we requested a child. Housekeeping were excellent very experienced and was training at the time and I was impressed by his instruction and safety mind set. Staff at the cafe was excellent couldn't fault them. They went above and beyond. Breakfast was $24 for continental and parking cost $12 a day. Something to be aware about. Overall other than some bumps in the road it was a good stay.
