::Be carful and don't get fooled. They don't like to cover or pay. very hard to find the supervisor or make complains. Claims section are trained to make your claim impossible. Will not recommend SGIC

::Recent car insurance claim - SGIC provided excellent service, prompt, efficient and helpful from start to finish. Have car and home insurance policies with SGIC and can't fault them.

::FRUSTRATED - put in an online claim around 3/3, got an automated email response same day advising received the claim and information provided regarding the claim process - okay great. Yesterday (26/3) get an email from SGIC advising "We haven’t been able to contact you by phone – please call us as soon as you can." Now on my online claim they did ask for a Preferred contact method and I advised 'Email' so why correspond by phone when I advised email was preferred? and my phone does have message bank so why not leave me a voice message? So I call them today (27/3) and they tell me I'm going to put you on hold until I bring up your claim. Okay fine - anyhow nearly 15 mins pass and they tell me they had to get in touch with the supplier that did the repair work to determine how the fault occurred. Why on earth wouldn't you do this before asking me to get in touch?? They finally get in touch with the supplier whilst I'm on hold and the supplier in the end wouldn't provide that information to SGIC due to privacy regulations and fair enough. Now SGIC want me to go back to the supplier who did the repairs and ask how the fault occurred. Surely upon reviewing my online claim couldn't they have just sent me an email requesting that they needed this information, rather waiting for over 3 weeks ?? I had a far better and smoother online claims process with SGIC around 2 years ago. I'm now considering if I'm going to go ahead with SGIC at the next insurance renewal!

::You don't deserve a star, but it wouldn't post this unless i did. SGIC scumbags call me a criminal and deny my legitimate claim. The only one who should face charges is SGIC for fraudulent deception to South Australians for over 20 years since it was sold off to a South African company. If i had known I would have never insured with them KEEP $ IN AUSTRALIA F##$# South Africa

::I had very poor experience with SGIC, the person don't want to listen me properly, he just said an amount and ask ' do you want to continue or not.' When i explain again, then he said higher amount. I already have 3 insurance with SGIG, i may need to move from SGIC.
