  I had a back injury at work early one morning before my usual start time, as was trying to complete a job so I could attend the ANZAC dawn service and take the rest of the day off. As a supervisor there was no union representation. The company advised that there was no need to report it as a work accident as they'd cover my days off (I believed I would recover with rest). After nearly a month of excruciating pain it was evident that rest was not going to fix it and on the advice of a friend I reported it as a work accident and looked for legal advice. Luckily found Shine Lawyers in Mackay and followed their advice to a satisfactory conclusion. Today I still suffer from drop foot and can hardly walk some days but am able to support my family as a taxi operator thanks to the financial settlement secured by Shine Lawyers.
