Love this park it's convenience to the shops and others places, friendly owner and the staffs very helpful since I am a single mothers of 3 boys, our deluxe cabin is very clean similar standard room as other caravan park I've been. Definitely I recommended to my friends.

Due to the interesting email my sister received from Southport Tourist Park after writing a review here I decided to write a comment as well. In advance, I apologize, in my sisters comment was not mentioned that the Commonwealth Games were on during our stay. Nevertheless, $100 per night for two persons on a powered campsite with a campervan (our neighbors - same conditions - payed even $114) was definitely overpriced for a campground like this! We stayed on several other tourist parks before and we have never seen something like that before. Even in Byron Bay while Easter weekend and the Bluesfest, one of Australias biggest music festivals, we paid $90 per night. However worth it because it was a beautiful, clean and modern campground. The fact that ants, other crawling animals and insects exist is something we are completely aware of especially if you are traveling since 8 months through Australia. However, a compost heap next to our campsite which only supports anthills, a dirty camp kitchen with food scraps (still not cleaned after days) and the facilities with lots of ways for ants to get inside doesn’t help at all. I have never seen someone spraying the “appropriate treatment” as they claim in the email. Even if they do so how can you not see the anthills in the shower or on the wall and weird is no matter which time we entered the bathrooms the ants were still everywhere. Apart from this it took a few days until the hairs disappeared from the floor. They are still to find on the shower walls and the windowsills weren’t wiped until our departure. Yes the place is unkempt and aging. The scraped chairs in the kitchen or the basket you usually buy at Woolworths for houshold care or many surfers use for their wetsuits was just screwed on top of the power pole to protect the open sockets which can’t hold the plug from bad weather conditions. Creative - but as you see aged and not worth the hundreds of dollars we needed to leave there because all other campgrounds were fully booked. One sentence in their response to my sisters review caps everything. We “might have been better accommodated at Versace [...].”. Following they wrote: “At a estimate, their prices are perhaps around $1000 a night.”. At least we would have never heard such rude statements from the Versace staff. Doesn’t it says the customer is king and aren’t we in a country where freedom of expression is a human right? I’m sorry to have such a sad opinion of this Park especially because it could be beautiful with all those palm trees and after some renovations. At least they gave us free WiFi because they did a typing error which caused some trouble but could be fixed before check in. Communication with the boss was difficult due to English doesn’t seem to be her 1st language. After all we are glad to move on.

The Tourist Park is unkempt and sometimes down and out. Countless ants all over the area also in the amenities. Disorganized Team and definitely overpriced!

Lovely service, the lady in the office is a sweetheart. We checked in last minute rather late and the office was still open (where other places in the area were not) they are friendly and we're more than happy to help us. The cabin was clean and smelt fresh, comfortable and affordable and very cute. The cabin had a fantastic aircon which I was grateful for in the heat, best sleep I'd had in a while. A peaceful, clean place to stay, lovely well maintained grounds and walking distance to the beach. I would very much recommend it and look forward to staying there again.
