  It seems these days, anyone with an SLR can set up a website and hold themselves out to be a photographer. The market is bursting with amateurs charging money to photograph special occasions. Those special occasions are just that – special and cannot be repeated. Don’t risk going the lowest price. Look at the work they’ve done to date. Demand to know their experience and to see examples of their work to date. A true photographer is 50% technician and 50% artist. The hardest 50% is the artistry and you can’t buy that from a camera shop. I’ve known Stew Ross for many years and have always admired his work. He’s photographed numerous weddings of friends, and his work stands head and shoulders above most others I’ve checked out in the market. Recently he shot our wedding, and the result exceeded my already high expectations. If you’re about to engage a photographer to shoot your wedding, look carefully at the work they’ve done before. Did they take a bunch of happy snaps? Is everyone lined up as if about to be shot? Is the album full of twee heavily edited or photoshopped glamour shots? Or did they capture the essence of the occasion and show some of the character of the participants involved. Stew Ross captures the day as it happens. The obligatory group shots are there, but the irreplaceable value is in the candid intimate moments he’s able to capture because he is an artist.   The greatest night of our lives, couldn't think of a better person to capture it & that's even before we SEE the photo's of the day. Stewart is the greatest!
