::Strawberry Hill is historically significant as the first farm in Western Australia, being originally a government farm established in 1827 as a military outpost. The present house has a two story portion erected in 1836 with historical associations with Sir Richard Spencer who resided at the farm from 1833-89. In the period from then until 1956 there are historical associations with the bird family. Francis Bird who was an architect, renovated the old portion of the house in 1889 and his work is evident today.

::I have ran past here many times on Mt Clarence loop, but did visit in 1980 during opening hours. From the outer it looks like a well maintained interesting historic farmhouse.

::Love the Old place. to keep it going a tea room should be a must and added a few cabins which would be great for summer stays. and an ongoing market garden with sale of goods. would be great. Get going you folks. Also a stall for goods.
