::Not the most recent time, but the time before I was at the Tonsley Hotel, the staff told me I wasn't allowed to wear my hat. Now I know hat etiquette, and in such a casual setting of a hotel bar, and near a casual dining area at the time entirely empty, there is no reason for wearing a hat to be rude. I understand that hats are sometimes an issue because it can disguise people from being captured on security cameras, which I have heard is a reason for not wearing a hat around a gambling area, though I was nowhere near this area at the time. The reason why I can't wear a hat in the Tonsley Hotel? The staff report that the manager does not like hats. Oh really? Well I'm a hatter, hats are my life, and I say that's just not going to cut it. I attended the Tonsley Hotel for a catered professional event which I did not pay to attend. Outside of this context, I would not return, recommend, nor support the Tonsley Hotel in any way after such an unreasonable and personal (though I understand it was not intended as personal) insult.
