  Don't expect to get what you booked, efficiency or upfront pricing. Came up from Sydney for a one day job and booked a car the day before. Was quoted $45 a day for a compact auto. When I arrived all was available was a run down sedan where I could barely reach the pedals because the drivers seat was broken and couldn't be moved forward. Very dirty and dusty, bits of rubbish in the back. I was told all the other cars in the yard were unregistered. Apparently the car that I was supposed to have was running late. But when I returned a few hours after there were no other cars in the yard... it was a very small yard. I wasn't informed there was going to be a $200 deposit until I was ready to pay, and wasn't informed about 100km limit until I returned the car. All up, it cost be $82.35 for a day hire, not including the $20 petrol I had to fill up BEFORE I left because the tank wasn't full. The gentleman who runs it means well but it took him three tries refund my deposit and I had to run for the train to get home and pick up my baby from daycare. He shouted "you're not in Sydney anymore!" as I was leaving. And yes this is true. Come here if you're backpacking, don't mind dirty vehicles and have all the time in the world for a chat. Don't bother if you expect clean cars and fast service. It's also not cheaper than the big chains.
