  This car rental company was recommended to me on recent visit to Cairns in May 2018. A beautiful family owned company where the entire family and staff offer every assistance and provide tourist information for your planned destination.   Hired through these guys whilst in Cairns for a week. Overall things were good but a word of caution - if things do go wrong with your car, you'll likely be blamed for it. I dropped the car back suggesting that the transmission was bad (it regularly failed to engage reverse when we hired it) and I openly put this to the owners for their benefit. I was met with suspicion and a suggestion that the fault was obviously caused by something i had done. I can't imagine being a hire car operator is always easy however you should definitely reserve judgement and blame unless you are sure what the issue is and why it's happened, especially when you are the ones that are meant to be hiring out a roadworthy and fully operational vehicle.   Mini Car Rentals provided us with an excellent small car at cheap rates. It was booked quite late and they could not have been more helpful or accommodating. The man we dealt with ( sorry we can't remember his name) was friendly, funny and a mine of information. We would definitely recommend this company.
