::I'll visit 'Nick's IGA' in Shakespeare St. Or 'Nick's IGA' in West Mackay-but only in a 'dire emergency'...ππ Unfortunatelly, the both places are selling their produce to make π°π° at any costs to their customersπ. Gone are days when the quality and affordability was their mottoπ...Some produce aren't up to 1st classππ€€... neither, that is 4 sure. The prices at both 'old Hatties', and West Mackay 'Nicks IGA', are constantly pumped up and even more expensive π€€π²π€π on some produce then those at Coles and Woolies. They're (the prices*) racing up weekly soo fast π€π², that it only makes me to grim, whinge to the staff, get much less then I came for to get, and definitely give up on shoping at Shakespeare St. 'IGA' and West Mky IGA. The stores owners might assume that us, the customers, aren't aware of what is going on with their produce and pricing. WRONG. My answer to these notoriously happening prices going up and quality going down π¬π at both supermarkets is 'THE G R E E D!!!' Making moreπ°π°π°ππ I know it's a 'business', but to me it's absolutely disgraceful in times when our economy's at it's witts, and an avarage Aussies are struggling to meet ends because of their wages stagnation hey!ππ€€π§. I need to mention that some of both businesses, the one on Shakespeare's St. And the one in West Mackay'Nick's 'IGA's'-fruit and vegs are a very 'poor' qualities. (I've experienced on myself!*) If you buy say a cold and pre-packed tomatoesπ π yelling at ya π«with 'Special'β οΈ tag, or other fruitπ, you have to use them within 2 days, otherwise they'll rot at front of your eyes! π βΉπ... And of course you'll be profoundly swearing what the 'f#&%'π€ is going on?! Cos of that π¨π π€, and you'll need to throw them out. Most of the times fruits & vegs there are also tasteless and without smell. πππ€ ... After checking some prices and their produce qualities, I'll leave and go back to Coles in West Mackay or CBD, to do my groceries shopping. A little relief there, but not too much though...Nearly the same story in all bloody supermarkets hey!...π€€ππ Anyway, I better βπbeating up poor 'NICK's IGA' Managers/Owners at Shakespeare St. And at West Mackay, because they might try to π‘π« π€π€€ me?!π€ Ooops...π€Just kidding! π€ π Now, don't take me wrong please. You go and do your shopping whenever you wish. I definitely though need to give a lot of credits to all Staff at both 'Nick's IGA' shops. They're always very friendly, polite and helpful towards the customersβΊπ... But what stresses me out π€€, is that they all look scared, depressedπ, and they even hardly talk to you, except: 'How r u'? They, 'poor things'π- know that they're watched at all times on the hidden cameras by their 'Big Brother'- The Boss, 'The Spy on the Sky' π―π, when serving the customers. So sad and disturbing...π©ππ I don't recommend those stores, but It's everyone's choice of course hey!ππ And you might be nicely surprised or...might not?π€π€ Also, I've noticed that 'Nick's IGA's are disounting some produce at 0.01 cent cheaper !!!π±... Then Coles and Woolies, hey! How pathetic. Anyway, good luck to all shoppers at 'Nick's IGA' in Shakespeare St. And in West Mackay. I'll give a miss. ::I am not a big fan of 'Nick's IGA' in West Mackay. Prices are very expensive for my 'vintage girl's' π€ππ΅pocket. A few times when I went there in a 'sort of emergency' to purchase some fruits (tomatosπ *), and after paying a top price they're 'off' in a couple of days?!ππ²π― The same happened with cucumbersπ₯ and brown inside, tasteless & expensive avocadosπ₯βΉ, and with milk the same as wellβΉπ. I've got court enough times to stop going there. I didn't and I don't blame staff working at 'Nick's IGA' for what they're selling, because they are doing their job and are following Manager's directions. I'll mention that the Staff at IGA is always well mannered, polite and helpful.πππ That is all that I can add to the review. Cheers, from a 'vintage', 'grumpy' βΉπ΅ Polish π΅π±πππ²/Aussie π¦πΊπ΄π¬π¦π¨ lady living in Mackay since 1988.xo

::Great service, friendly and helpful . Have been going there for ten years , easy parking never super busy or long queues. Have half price specials every week to compete with Coles and Woolies. Only one annoying downside to an otherwise excellent place which I noticed when I had to check a receipt, and that has happened again since, was that some items that are on special or that have been marked down are sometimes charged at full price at the checkout, must be some flaw in the system either software or human . I was in a rush and got nailed last week for $10. The staff are always helpful when helping sort it out though

::Very handy being open all the time but prices and staff friendliness leave a bit to be desired.
